SIOUX CITY, Iowa – We’re still seven months away from the Iowa Gubernatorial Primary featuring a crowded democratic field.
But polls this past week show retired Des Moines businessman Fred Hubbel and state legislator Nate Boulton as the leaders of the pack.
Boulton spent the weekend campaigning here in Siouxland with a number of stops to meet voters and shore up support.
Today his campaign got a big boost as he garnered the endorsement of the Sioux City Firefighters Union, Local 7 during an event at the Sioux City Public Museum.
Local 7 becomes roughly the 30th labor organization to back Boulton.
“We see Nate as a guy who can do that, who can reach across, who can come up with workable solutions and make Iowa what it needs to be,” says Leonard Kraker, President of Local 7 Sioux City Firefighters.
“So there are a lot of opportunities to do that and as someone that is currently serving the legislature I’m building those relationships to make sure we do take care of the problems that do affect Iowan’s in as many non-partisan ways as possible,” says Nate Boulton, Gubernatorial Candidate.
